Ophthalmic suspension (Eye drops).
Description
Tobramycin is a water-soluble aminoglycoside antibiotic active against a
wide variety of gram-negative and gram-positive ophthalmic pathogens.
Tobramycin is a drug of choice in corneal ulcers & in pseudomonas
infections. Tobramycin inhibits the protein synthesis of bacterias.
Fluorometholone is a steroid reduces inflammation by inhibiting the
inflammatory mediators without any side effects.
Indications
Xtob - FA Drops
is indicated for steroid responsive inflammatory ocular conditions for which a
corticosteroid is indicated and where superficial bacterial ocular infection or
a risk of bacterial ocular infection exists.
The use of a combination drug with an anti infective component is indicated
where the risk of superficial ocular infection is high or where there is an
expectation that potentially dangerous numbers of bacteria will be present in
the eye.
Dosage
Post operative- one to two drops 6 to 8 times a day. Frequency must be
decreased gradually or warranted by improvement in clinical signs. Care should
be taken not to discontinue the therapy prematurely.
Contraindications
Epithelial herpes simplex keratitis ( dendritic keratitis ) vaccinia,
varicella, and many other viral diseases of the cornea and conjunctiva.
Mycobacterial infection of the eye. Fungal diseases of ocular structures.
Hypersensitivity to a component of the medication.
Adverse reactions
The most frequent adverse reactions to topical ocular tobramycin are
hypersensitivity and localized ocular toxicity including lid itching and
swelling and conjunctival erythema.

Store in a cool dry place. Protect from
light.
