Increased apoptosis contributes to decreased in tear production & increase
in tearfilm osmolarity that drives dry eye ocular surface disorder. EPA & DHA
elongated with enzymes produces anti inflammatory prostaglandin E3 (PGE 3)
& leukotrienes B5 (LTB 5) EPA blocks the gene
expression of pro inflammatory cytokines tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF a),
interleukin-1a (IL-1a), interleukin-1b (IL-1), proteoglycan degrading enzymes
& cyclo oxygenase and thus reduces the imflammation. Meibomian glands use
essential fatty acids to synthesize oil. Omega 3 fatty acids clears & thins
the meibomian gland secretions & stimulates tear secretions. Indications Olfresh
: Nutritional supplement for the eye. Vitamin and mineral
deficiencies due to age, unbalanced diet, prolonged exposure to natural or
artificial light, mental fatigue and stress, pollution, and tobacco. Olfresh: Advanced antioxidant supplement
of vitamins and mineral salts, that are involved in cellular protection against
the degenerative action of free radicals. The vitamins and mineral salts of
Olfresh are also essential for optimal cell metabolism. In particular, Olfresh
combines the vitamins and mineral salts necessary for maximizing vision and
health of the eye. The vitamins and mineral salts of Olfresh are associated
with the reduction in the risk of age-associated macular degeneration. They protect the eye
from developing cataracts, are coadjuvants against changes in corneal
epithelium with opacity of the cornea (xerophthalmia), and protect against
deficient adjustment of vision to darkness. Olfresh is also indicated in
the case of hypovitaminosis, states where there is a greater need for vitamins
and minerals, eg, stressful situations, physical exercise, unvaried diet,
ageing, treatment with antibiotics, infections, febrile states, diets, states
with loss of appetite, chronic alcoholism and exposure to sunlight. OLFRESH is also indicated for
